    Rave Wireless Campus Communication

Rave Wireless provides mobile applications and mobile phone programs that help colleges and universities better connect with and provide services to their students. Rave enables schools to create a powerful connection with students via the cell phone. This is especially important in an era when students are using e-mail less frequently, have all but abandoned their landline telephones and spend hours networking with each other on Facebook and MySpace.

Briefly, students can use their cell phones to send their location to campus police in emergency scenarios, access their coursework, create collaborative groups with peers and university staff and much more. In addition to these functional benefits, universities can create a profitable financial scenario by generating income from the program and eliminating residence hall telephone costs.

Sample clients include University of Montclair State University, North Carolina-Chapel Hill, Georgetown and Quinnipiac University. Rave has also been featured in media sources such as the Chronicle of Higher Education, Campus Technology and the New York Times.

Rave is offering discounted equipment pricing to CCIC members through Nextel. For more information, contact Andrew S. Feigenson at 646-485-4093 or afeigenson@ravewireless.com. www.ravewireless.com

    Personal Security System

CAMPUS SECURE¨ protects students, staff and faculty by creating a zone of protection throughout a campus-it's like having 911 in the palm of every hand! Easily carried on a key chain or lanyard, the personal alarm locator (PAL) allows holders in duress to request help at the touch of a button. Within seconds, a small transmitter inside the PAL identifies the PAL's holder and location. Security personnel can immediately respond to the individual, even if that person is mobile.

With CAMPUS SECURE¨, students can discretely request assistance without others' knowledge. This feature helps protect against acquaintance-related assault while also protecting against threats from strangers. CAMPUS SECURE¨ can be customized to allow the institution to select the size of the PAL zone of protection.

CCIC members receive a 10% discount off the MSRP on all installed system. Contact Marc Sandrow at 800-732-7978 or msandrow@securesysteminc.com. www.securesysteminc.com

JP Morgan Chase Independent College Purchase Card Program

Through JP Morgan Chase and the Coalition for College Cost Savings, CCIC extends to its member schools the ability to join a national independent college purchase card program. A P-Card program reduces costs associated with processing purchase orders by simplifying the procure-to-pay process. Many tasks associated with traditional POs are eliminated. Flexible spending limits allow employees at all levels of the organization to perform their jobs more easily, but within established budget parameters. The system provides detailed spending reports needed for internal control, decision-making, general ledger postings, taxes, and other reporting. Additionally, participating institutions receive rebate dollars based on aggregated purchasing volume across the national program.
